What is CoInitiumLab?
CoInitium Lab is an agile and human-centered structure that enables working from anywhere and in new ways, at the intersection of European projects, social innovation, and territorial dynamics in order to:
- support ambitious collective approaches without losing a sense of proximity;
- explore new ways of working (through facilitation, experimentation, and networking);
- offer personalized support based on mutual respect and equal footing.

Co
‘Co’ stands for cooperation, collective, commons, and co-creation. It reflects the belief that nothing sustainable or fair can be built alone, that value emerges through relationships.
It is also the ‘co’ of chosen alliances, communities in motion, and horizontal processes.

Initium
‘Initium’ is the beginning, the starting point.
It’s the desire to work from the origin of things, from what is just emerging.
It’s that moment when a project begins to take shape, a story begins to unfold, a need begins to surface, the moment when the ‘Co’ becomes ours.

Lab
The ‘Lab’ is the place where we test, shape, observe, and document. A human-scale, agile laboratory, rooted in reality, yet open to doubt, intuition, and learning along the way.
It’s where ‘Co’ and ‘Initium’ take form.
Behind CoInitium Lab, there’s me: Bertille.
I was born and raised in Normandy, where I still live, but my journey has already taken me all across Europe, by train, through projects, or in conversation. And since my suitcase is always ready, I’m up for going (almost) anywhere, as long as there’s something meaningful to build.
I build bridges between people who don’t always speak the same language, literally or figuratively. I read European project reports for fun (yes, really), and I have a soft spot for well-organized Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint decks that don’t hurt your eyes.
I also do improv theatre, which helps a lot in surprise meetings, last-minute changes, and those projects where you have to improvise without calling it that.
Most importantly, I truly believe that human relationships are what make projects work. A good shared file is useful. A real sense of trust, that’s essential.
